Position Description:

If innovation and new technology is your passion, this could be the career for you! You will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of a fuel cell powertrain system. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as a team on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution to which require major technological advances and extensive development.

Your Day-to-Day (Job Duties):

  • Characterize fuel cell performance and efficiency by generating operating maps, defining operating conditions, identifying design refinements, and executing durability assessments
  • Assist in the development and implementation an accurate control system model for the fuel cell power system
  • Modelling and prototyping fuel cell system designs
  • Component selection for system integration and balance of plant
  • Interface with suppliers and industry representatives
  • Validate fuel cell performance through simulations
  • Test fuel cells to determine performance characteristics and document results
  • Develop procedures to ensure safety during development, testing, and operation
  • Identify and document failure and degradation modes and develop mitigating features

What You Bring to the Team (Requirements):

  • 5+ years experience working with Fuel Cells
  • Strong fundamentals in fuel cell working principles
  • Knowledge on state-of-the-art fuel cell and electrical components (Fuel cell stacks, Air handling, Battery, E-Motor, Inverter, Charger)
  • Knowledge of controls software verification & validation, data analysis, requirement and design analysis of fuel cell stacks, air handling, fuel metering and electrical energy management desired
  • Experience with component level analysis of complex fluid thermal systems desired
  • Bachelor's Degree in related engineering field
  • Knowledge of aerospace regulatory requirements and general design requirements for aircraft is desirable
