WHAT YOU'LL DO

As part of the Quality Assurance Department, the Test Lab Technician is responsible for helping to maintain the efficient flow of testing materials throughout the lab. The Technician will be expected to dimension, test, and aid in the fabrication of specimens or materials. Other expectations may include:

  • Perform first article inspections and other material inspections
  • Conduct material tests including dynamic mechanical analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, short beam shear, tensile, and compression of composite materials
  • Conduct flow and gel time tests on uncured composite materials
  • Sign off inspections and testing as required
  • Monitor and maintain testing equipment and shared workspace
  • Work with Engineering in the development and improvement of materials and processes
  • Use dimensional measurement tools to record data and ensure that composite specimens meet required criteria
  • Read and interpret CAD based drawings of parts/specimens.
  • Correctly and efficiently fabricate and machine parts/specimens per engineering drawings
  • Monitor & adjust equipment to ensure proper function
  • Operate sample preparation ovens as needed for specimen fabrication
  • Work with Engineering and other departments to accomplish goals
  • Other duties as assigned or required

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • 1+ years of experience in a machining/manufacturing environment is helpful but not required
  • Dimensional Inspection experience is helpful but not required
  • CNC programming and machining experience is helpful but not required
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of quality work
  • Ability to follow directions and specifications
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements
  • Able to work well independently or in a team
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
