Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Thermodynamics Engineer to work on industry disrupting engineering projects containing novel critical challenges, the solution for which requires transformative adaptation of fuel cell technology. This critical thinker and problem solver will have experience with aerodynamic cooling drag recovery and mass reduction of critical cooling system installations.

Your Day-to-Day (Job Duties):

  • Evaluate feasibility for integral cooling solutions for multiple systems
  • Evaluate sizing and/or source of power systems based on heat rejection capabilities
  • Evaluation and modeling of strategic thermal waste management strategies for dynamic power consumption and changing environmental conditions
  • Develop new-to-industry or integration of cross-industry methods for thermal waste energy recovery

What You Bring to the Team (Requirements):

  • 5+ years experience working with thermodynamics and heat management in systems
  • Strong experience in the fields of fluids, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
  • Strong understanding of thermal/fluids analysis and modeling approaches
  • Proficiency in steady state and transient simulation
  • Experience resolving issues across aircraft systems (Powerplant/Avionics/Equipment Cooling, Fuel, ECS, Cabin Comfort)
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced engineers
  • Balance heat rejection load for multiple systems with integrated cooling solution
  • Strong team coordination skills, position will require interface with multiple systems
  • BS degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
