WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a member of the Custodial & Maintenance Team, the Facilities Janitor plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and well-functioning facility. You'll help ensure our employees have a safe and comfortable environment to work in and that our facility and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain floors, work areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, restrooms, and commonly used areas
- Empty trash and recycling containers and maintain appropriate waste disposal practices
- Perform basic facility maintenance and minor repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains or toilets, and addressing other routine maintenance needs
- Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or facility concerns to the appropriate team members
- Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and communicate when products need to be reordered
- Keep janitorial closets, storage areas, and equipment clean, organized, and properly maintained
- Maintain exterior areas by removing litter, debris, and other materials from sidewalks, entrances, and parking areas
- Clean windows, glass partitions, mirrors, and other glass surfaces
- Perform carpet and upholstery cleaning as needed
- Safely operate floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other cleaning and maintenance equipment
- Assist with seasonal facility and grounds maintenance, including snow and ice removal when needed
- Follow established cleaning procedures, safety practices, and company policies
- Work cooperatively with employees and other departments to respond to facility needs and maintain a professional work environment
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Required
- Previous janitorial, custodial, facilities, or maintenance experience.
- Experience working in a large facility such as a warehouse, manufacturing facility, school, airport, or commercial building is helpful but not required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Dependable, hardworking, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness and work quality
- Ability to follow instructions, established procedures, and safety guidelines
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while also being a supportive team member
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to changing priorities
- Good communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull cleaning carts, vacuums, floor equipment, and other maintenance equipment
- Ability to safely operate basic cleaning and maintenance equipment
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and in varying temperatures as needed
- Ability to perform repetitive movements such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and wiping
- Ability to safely navigate work areas, including manufacturing spaces, walkways, stairs, and parking areas
COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE
Monday – Friday
6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Starting Pay: $22-24/hr. Depending on Experience
